OUR FAQ

Frequently Asked
Questions

Answers to the most common questions about hiring a ghostwriter — covering pricing, timelines, confidentiality, rights ownership, and how our process works.

Ghostwriting rates typically run $10-$50 per page depending on genre, research depth, and length, with most full-length manuscripts falling between $15,000 and $40,000. You'll get a fixed quote before any work begins — never an open-ended hourly bill.

Yes. Ghostwriting is a completely legal, standard part of the publishing industry — it's no different from hiring a designer for your cover or an accountant for your taxes. Many bestselling books, including those by public figures, are ghostwritten.

You do. Once your project is paid in full, you receive complete ownership and rights to the manuscript. ISB Ghostwriters never claims authorship, credit, or royalties on your book.

Yes. Every project starts with a signed non-disclosure agreement protecting your identity, your topic, and your drafts. Confidentiality is standard, not an add-on.

Most full-length manuscripts take 3-6 months from kickoff to final draft, depending on length and how quickly you can review chapters as they're delivered. Add another 2-4 weeks for editing, design, and formatting before publishing.

A ghostwriter writes your book from your ideas, notes, or interviews. An editor takes a manuscript you've already written and improves its structure, clarity, and flow. If you already have a full draft, you likely need editing, not ghostwriting — we offer both and can tell you which you need on a free call.

No manuscript is auto-generated. Every book is written by a professional human ghostwriter. We may use AI-assisted tools for research organization or light copyediting support, the same way a writer might use spellcheck — but the writing, structure, and voice are entirely human, and every manuscript is checked against Amazon KDP's content-originality guidelines before publishing.

Your name goes on the cover unless you tell us otherwise. Ghostwriters at ISB work under NDA and receive no public credit unless you choose to name them as a co-author — that decision is always yours.

Fiction (romance, mystery, thriller, fantasy, children's), memoir, self-help, business and nonfiction, and children's picture books. Tell us your genre on the first call and we'll match you with a ghostwriter who's written in it before.

As involved as you want. Some clients provide a single conversation and a short outline; others review and give feedback on every chapter as it's drafted. Either way, nothing is finalized without your approval.

No — we also pick up half-finished manuscripts, help authors finish a book they've stalled on, and edit or format books that were written elsewhere.

Yes. Publishing (Amazon KDP, print, and other platforms), cover design, formatting, and launch marketing are all in-house services, so you don't have to hand your finished manuscript off to a separate publisher to get it live.

Yes — the entire process, from consultation to delivery, happens by phone, video call, and email, so location isn't a barrier. Our studio is based in Albany, NY, but our clients are worldwide.

Revisions are built into every project. You'll review drafts at agreed milestones (not just once at the very end) and provide feedback before we move forward, so issues get caught early rather than after the whole manuscript is done.

Book a free consultation using the form on our Contact page or call (786) 949-4620. We'll ask a few questions about your idea and genre, then send a written quote — no obligation to move forward.
